Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

The most important quality of a leader is being a gifted speaker.

Use details and examples to explain your opinion.

1 I disagree that the most important quality of a leader is being a gifted speaker. In my opinion, the ability to foster teamwork is more important. First of all, a leader who encourages collaboration among the team can create a more dynamic and creative team environment, leading to more innovative outcomes. And second, fostering teamwork helps build a cohesive team. When team members collaborate, they have the opportunity to learn from and support each other, making them more committed to achieve common goals. Therefore, the ability to foster teamwork is essential for being a good leader.

Some people believe that robots can replace human beings for many types of work in the future. Others do not think so. Which one do you agree with? Please explain why and include specific details in your answer.

1 I agree that robots can replace human beings for many types of work in the future. First, robots can complete repetitive and dangerous tasks more efficiently and safely than humans. For example, in a factory, robots can operate big machines and process harmful materials, preventing humans from injuries. Second, development in AI provides robot with a certain level of ability to learn and analyze. Robots can handle tasks such as online customer service and data analysis. While some jobs may still require human creativity and empathy, many dangerous and simple jobs can be taken over by robots.

  take over:接手

范例2 I don’t think that robots will replace human beings for many types of work in the future. First, many jobs require human creativity, observation, and empathy, which robots don’t have yet. For example, jobs such as teaching and counseling rely heavily on interaction between humans, which a robot is not capable of. Besides, if many types of work are taken over by robots, the unemployment rate will increase, which may lead to further social and economic issues. Thus, although robots can help us with many tasks, they cannot completely replace human workers in many essential roles.

  rely on:依赖于

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

Old people should not take risks and participate in adventurous events as young people do.

Please explain why in detail and examples in your answer.

I disagree with the statement that old people should not take risks and participate in adventurous events as young people do. First, participating in adventurous activities can significantly improve the physical and mental health of old people. For example, activities like hiking and cycling can promote their health and reduce stress. Second, adventurous events can offer elder people a sense of purpose and excitement. Trying new experiences and challenging oneself can bring them passion and satisfaction, which can lead to a more positive lifestyle. Therefore, encouraging older people to participate in adventurous activities can lead to a healthier and more satisfying life.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

People should spend time reading the news every day in order to know what is happening in other countries around the world.

Use details and examples to explain your opinion.

1 I agree that people should spend time reading the news every day to know what is happening in other countries in the world. First, reading the news helps us understand the connection of today's globalized world. Events such as economic crises and natural disasters may have a profound impact on a large area, so it’s wise to keep informed of such events. Second, reading international news broadens our perspectives and promotes cross-cultural understanding. For example, countries from all over the world participate in the Olympics, so the Olympics always attract global attention. Following Olympic news allows us to learn about other countries’ cultures.

Personally speaking, I believe that people don’t need to pay attention to the news every day to know things that happen in other countries. For the first reason, in today's fast-paced world, not everyone has the time to read the news continuously. People have different priorities, such as work, family, and personal interests, which might take precedence over staying updated with global news. Besides, for many individuals, local news might be more relevant and impactful than international news. For example, local news can provide information about nearby events, public safety, and community resources, which can make us stay familiar with the environment around us.

  take precedence over:优先于

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:

Taking too many photographs affects people's participation in events and activities?

Use details and examples to explain your opinion.

I agree that taking too many photographs affects people's participation in events and activities. For the first reason, focusing on a perfect shot can distract people from fully experiencing the moment. For example, at a concert, if you keep adjusting your camera settings and try to get a satisfying photo, you may not be able to be involved in the music and the atmosphere. Secondly, being busy with photographs may stop people from having meaningful interactions with others. When people are occupied with taking pictures, they may miss out interesting conversations or the chances to meet new friends.

  be occupied with:被…占据

  miss out:错过
