Part 3
1.Should parents make plans for children?
2.?When should children start to make plans for themselves?
3.Do you think it is important for a person to have a career plan?
4.How do most people plan their future education and their future career?
5.Do you think planning is important or is it a waste of time?
第一题,should …..,无非就还是3种回应:YES, NO, NOT SURE (包括IT DEPENDS)
1.Should parents make plans for children?
[SAMPLE ANSWER] Should parents make plans for children? Well, I guess yes. Coz children usually are not mature enough to make plans and decisions, especially proper ones. For example, financial plan for future education, what kindergarten and schools to go to, and even the daily plan for when to get up and study, and things like that. They definitely need parents to do these plans for them. On the other hand, parents can help children to make some plans or at least discuss with them like the schedule next day as it is also necessary to help them to become independent.
2.When should children start to make plans for themselves?
[SAMPLE ANSWER] Um …, I suppose it depends on the types of plans children need to make. For example, for a study plan timetable, a child should make it from middle school as they are mature enough to manage their study schedule at this age. If it’s a college application plan, even the child might need help, they should do it by themselves when they are at high school level.
3.Do you think it is important for a person to have a career plan?
[SAMPLE ANSWER] Definitely. I believe it is one of the key factors in the success of your career. The reason for this is that you would have a clear goal and a clear path which eventually help you to achieve your goal. By way of example, if you want to be a CTO (chief technology officer), you need to have a career path plan which includes the positions you hold as you grow in your field that starts from your first job, or even involves your college education. It could be a 5- and 10- year plan. Without it, you might waste a lot of time.
4.How do most people plan their future education and their future career?
[SAMPLE ANSWER] Majority of people consult their parents and teachers for help because they have more experience. Some people also seek advice from professionals in the field they interested in. For example, a person who wants to seek a career in law and legal profession writes an email to a magazine where they can find a columnist who is an excellent lawyer.
5.Do you think planning is important or is it a waste of time?
[SAMPLE ANSWER] I’d say it’s very important. Actually, without making a plan would lead to waste of time. This is because we waste our time on unnecessary things or make mistakes thus need to spend time on correcting the mistakes. For example, if we don’t have a clear study plan, then we might forget what books we need to read, miss the homework deadline and spend too much time on playing games without noticing that there’s not enough time left.
